Classics at The Modern is a project of The Lone Star Film Society.

Through Classics at the Modern, the Lone Star Film Society is dedicated to making classic movies available to audiences as they were originally seen - on the big screen. Renting videotapes or watching television broadcasts offers convenience and privacy, but cannot duplicate the powerful effect these movies have when seen in the dark on a huge screen within the community of an audience.

The Lone Star Film Society strives to preserve and present the art of the moving image and its influence on world culture. The Society supports the Lone Star International Film Festival, Classic Movie Series, Open Screen Night, Teen Video Fest, and other community events.
